The Lesotho Football Association among other duties has the responsibility of providing training for the four components of football; coaching, refereeing, administration and sports medicine. The courses are run under the auspices of the Technical Director Mr. Seephephe Matete and the Administration Manager Mr. Mokhosi Mohapi who then report to FIFA and CAF respectively.
Training is provided by the local instructors who have been trained locally, at CAF level and at FIFA level. Because the Association has working relationships with other Associations, there are some courses that are offered by those Associations that Le.F.A has ties with. An e.g. of such a course is the recent Coaching course that the England Football Association held for premier league and A- Division club coaches.
Although women football is in its infancy in Lesotho, there are structures that tirelessly working towards the establishment of proper women football leagues across the country. This year, Mr. Likhetho Mokhathi, the Women Football National Team head Coach assembled a very formidable Under 19 Women Team that attempted to qualify for the FIFA Women Youth Championships that will be held in Chile. The team was fixtured against Botswana.
Although the team played very well in Lesotho, the team was unfortunately knocked out in the return match in Gaborone. It is worth mentioning that the first team to play an official match on football turf in the Kingdom of Lesotho was the Women Under 19 Team.
